Zara Online Arrives!

I just realized that Zara is now online for US shoppers.  Since I'm not really into buying things for a 7 1/2 month pregnant woman right now (me) I'm focusing all of my fall shopping on Bea.  We've had a cool and rainy few days here and that started me thinking about what we need for fall.  I really don't want a repeat of last year, which is I wait until we're well into fall and then can't find anything that I want and go on to obsess over tiny little details (like those pair of faux shearling boots that I missed out on).  So, I'm trying to be proactive and plan ahead this year.  We've already purchased an adorable Patagonia "sweater", it's really a winter jacket:

I actually found a purple one on Ebay, Bea had a pink coat last year and I wanted something a little different, because I have an odd feeling last year's will still fit (at least for the beginning of the winter).  T actually brought this up and I nonchalantly said, "Oh, I don't think that will fit her this year".  I feel a little bad, because I'm pretty sure it will, but these coats are so cute and I wanted one last year and never got around to buying one.

Love!  I wish they had it in my size (although I'm not really into the Mommy & Me dressing alike thing).  And as a side note can I add how much I like that their "View All" option doesn't take you back to the top of the page, but continues from where you are.  I mean, come on, every website should do this.  Anyway, back to the subject.  Here are a few other pieces that I love for Bea for this fall season:

Our Long Weekend

Today has been nothing but rain, courtesy of Hurricane Lee, but our Labor Day weekend was so beautiful!  Since we've only just moved we spent a quiet weekend playing at the park and doing home improvements.  First up, Bea's room.  With Baby No. 2's arrival about 10 weeks away it's really important to me to have both Bea's room and the new baby room ready.  So, we, well T, painted Bea's room this weekend.  Inspired by Eleanore's room over at Making it Lovely, we chose the Benjamin Moore color Wild Aster.

When we first painted the tester swatches on the wall I was concerned that this color had too much white in it.  It really looked white with a hint of pink/purple and I almost went with a darker pink.  I'm so glad I didn't!  Once everything was painted the shade was much more what I had envisioned and I'm so happy with how the room turned out.  We painted everything but the closet, mainly because I love this idea and am thinking something like it might be cute for Bea:

I don't know that her closet would make a good reading nook, it's not quiet as deep as this one, but I love the potato stamping and the shelves (my main source of inspiration).

Fall Faves

I absolutely love fall, from the leaves changing color to the smell of fire in the air this is definitely my favorite time of year.  I know we're technically still in summer (it's only September 1st, after all)  but I'm already onto all things fall.

Included in my love of fall is picking out a new "school" wardrobe.  I'm originally from a very small town and every year before school would start we would drive the hour and a half to the nearest mall and do our back-to-school shopping.  I remember this as stocking up on sweaters, jeans, and a particularly memorable outfit that consisted of gray flannel shorts and a red sweatshirt with a Scottie dog on it (trust me, it was AMAZING, I have the 4th grade school pic to prove it).

Since I'm 7+ months pregnant right now and not really into buying things for me, I thought I'd put up an adorable outfit that I ran across for me.  I mean, dressing her is more fun anyway, that is, until she decides that she only wants to wear a turtleneck in 85 degree weather or 1 sock.  Anyway, a mom can dream.
