Mommy & Me

The other day, as Bea and I were leaving to run errands I noticed something.  We were dressed very similar.  I hadn't done this intentionally, but I suppose it's only inevitable that you dress your little one in clothing that you are drawn to as well.

So, I thought I'd start a little weekly post called "Mommy & Me".  Our first post is all about stripes, I know they come around every spring/summer (and resort), but I still can't resist them.  And the offerings for kids are so adorable!

Here's a few of my favorites:

Crewcuts Striped lightening tee

Mini Rodini swimsuit at Sweet William

Milly seersucker blue striped bubble at Busy Bees
And here are a few for Mom:

Lemlem Adama tunic for JCrew

Old Navy striped Henley

LL Bean French Sailor's shirt

Happy Weekend!

Brooklyn Bridge

Happy Weekend!  Since Bea and I are alone this weekend, I'm trying to plan a ton of activities.  I find that whenever my husband is out of town for work (as he's been since last Sunday) one key to keeping my sanity is to plan, plan, plan.  I honestly don't know how single moms do it.  My hats off to all of them!

So, depending on how much energy I can muster (and how much rain we actually end up with) we'll be hitting the water lab at Pier 6, checking out the many stoop sales, making peanut butter cookies, hitting the Carroll Garden concert series, and spending tons of time at the park.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Veggie Ban

For a few months now I've been waging war against a 17 month old over veggies.  When Bea started solids she would eat anything, broccoli, no problem.  Salmon, loved it.  Then, around December of last year she started in on what is now our veggie war.  The only consistent veggie I can persuade her to eat are sweet potatoes.

So, a few months ago I started "hiding" veggies in foods in the hope that she wouldn't notice them and start eating some.  Right now smoothies are a current favorite.  The other morning I made one with blueberries, yogurt, banana, a little honey and spinach.  Thank goodness she drank it all!

I'd love to hear any ideas you might have about ways to persuade a toddler to eat her veggies!

What We Wore Wednesday

Bea sporting a dress from Little Poco

Today is supposed to be sunny and 80 degrees in Brooklyn!  After a day of cool, rainy weather sunshine is definitely in order.  It was actually a little cool this morning (although in an apt without AC how cool could it really be?), so I put Bea in this adorable dress from Little Poco.  I purchased it last year at Atlantic Antic, which is a HUGE street fair on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.

In the middle of her toys
Little Poco has such cute dresses for girls, and they are so well priced!  I think she's going to need this one next.

La Isla Bonita Dress from Little Poco
So cute and it is available in a range of colors including orange, pink, peach, blue, and purple.  Now to just decide which one!

Hello!

Hello and welcome to Macaroni Baby!  I've attempted (in the past) to start other blogs and for some reason I was never really into any of them.  I think the timing wasn't right or the content wasn't right.  So now I'm starting fresh with a blog related to the things that currently occupy my life:  my daughter Beatrice, our move to (hopefully) our new home, and baby no. 2 which will make his/her appearance in November.  I've gotten tons of inspiration from all of the great blogs out there and I'm sure will be referencing them often.

I'd love to hear from you, so please leave any comments or questions and feel free to email me directly!
